DIY Weddings: Napkin Fold – Triangle Pocket

Here’s a simple napkin fold for any event. The Triangle Pocket Fold leaves a clean, finished look and can be used in many different ways. The pocket can be accented with flower, a menu, or even hold the silverware.

To start you need one of our 20×20 Solid Polyester or Satin Polyester Napkins. In these photos we used the Navy Solid Polyester (below this first image we have more detailed instructions).

DIY Wedding: Napkin Fold – Buckle Bow

It’s been a while since we’ve done a napkin fold so I figured we do one with a little more bling to ring in the new year – the Buckle Bow.

For this fold you’ll need one of our 20×20 solid polyester or polyester satin napkins (I used solid polyester), and as the name suggests – a buckle such as our Diamond Buckle.

1

Step one: To start, lay the napkin flat out on the table with the buckle off to the side and fold the top third down.

2

Step two: Fold the bottom third up to meet the top edge

3

Step three: Take the right side and fold it just past a quarter of the way over

4

Step four: Take the left side and fold it just past a quarter of the way over (the two edges should now overlap just a little bit).

5

Step five: Accordion fold or gather up/scrunch the napkin in the middle

6

7

Step six: With the side that was facing up now facing the middle bar of the buckle, thread the napkin through one side of the buckle so it’s just over halfway down the napkin

8

Step seven: Fold the napkin down and thread it through the other side of the buckle.

9

Step eight: This part takes a little fussing around with the fabric to make sure the buckle is on the middle of the napkin and that the edges lay just how you want them to.

10

Once you’ve got it just right, place it on the charger and you’re ready to go!

DIY Weddings: Napkin Fold – Maple Leaf

Since the fall weather has finally arrived we figured a leaf napkin fold would be the most fitting (get a head start on that fancy Thanksgiving dinner you’ll be hosting this year).

So for this fold, as usual, you’ll need one of our 20×20 solid polyester napkins and a napkin ring. You might also need an iron if you prefer sharp folds/creases.

Photo Oct 17, 12 41 13 PM

In this version I didn’t iron the napkin, but if you iron the creases at each step, you’ll end up with a much sharper look.

Step one: fold the napkin in half (with the open end facing away from you)

Photo Oct 17, 12 41 22 PM

Step two: fold the top right corner down to the middle (top layer only)

Photo Oct 17, 12 41 32 PM

Step three: do the same with the top left corner

Step Four: flip the napkin over

Step Five: fold the top edge down to meet the bottom edge (top layer only)

Photo Oct 17, 12 42 11 PM

Step six: fold the bottom right corner approximately half-way up (top layer only)

Photo Oct 17, 12 42 20 PM

Step seven: repeat step six with the bottom left corner

Photo Oct 17, 12 42 30 PM

Step eight: rotate the napkin 90 degrees and begin an accordion fold about an inch wide

Photo Oct 17, 12 42 43 PM

Step nine: continue the accordion fold  – this part can be tricky, and may be where the iron comes in handy – just make sure to keep all the layers together.

Step ten: add a napkin ring

Step eleven: fluff and adjust the “leaf” to your liking

Photo Oct 17, 12 45 02 PM

Add it to your place setting, and there you have it! Consider using a variety of napkin colors to enhance your fall table scape!

DIY Weddings: Napkin Fold – Spin Rose

You’d never know by the look of it, but this may be our simplest napkin fold to date!

All you need is one of our 20×20 napkins (for this fold, we recommend the polyester satin instead of solid polyester), and a fork.

Photo Aug 28, 9 59 06 AM

Make sure the napkin is “face” down – so with our satin polyester, that would be shiny side down.

Photo Aug 28, 9 59 19 AM

To start, put the fork in the middle of the napkin and pinch a little bit up in between the tines – think of it like you’re twirling spaghetti noodles.

Photo Aug 28, 9 59 36 AM

Spin the fork, twisting the napkin around. While you’re doing this, you might need to level it out with your other hand so it stays a flat circle instead of a tube.

Photo Aug 28, 9 59 58 AM

Keep spinning!

Photo Aug 28, 10 00 15 AM

Once you’ve wrapped up the entire napkin, remove the fork.

Photo Aug 28, 10 00 46 AM

Flip the napkin over…

Place on a plate…

Photo Aug 28, 10 01 18 AM

And let go!

Photo Aug 28, 10 01 42 AM

The napkin will unwind a little bit and it might need a little adjusting to keep it symmetrical, but that’s all there is too it!

DIY Wedding: Napkin Fold – Silverware Roll

For the fourth installment of DIY Wedding: Napkin Folds we are going to show you how to do the Silverware Roll.

Outdoor wedding season is in full swing and there are many people turning towards the more casual/picnic style reception. This fold is perfect for such an occasion – it looks great and holds the silverware together, making them portable for a buffet-style meal!

For this fold you will need one of our 20×20 Solid Polyester Napkins, a setting of silverware and possibly one of our Silver Napkin Rings.

Step one: Place the napkin on the table with one corner facing you, fold this bottom corner up to meet the top corner.

Photo Jul 11, 10 38 54 AMStep two: Place the silverware along the bottom edge in the center of the napkin (where the box is in this photo).

Photo Jul 11, 10 39 36 AM

Step six: Continue rolling

And there you have it – a nifty little pocket to make carrying a napkin and silverware along with your cup and plate a little easier.

Photo Jul 11, 10 40 22 AM

To make sure the napkin stays in place, you could opt to use one of our silver napkin rings or even tie a little ribbon around it.

Photo Jul 11, 10 40 43 AM

We took it one step further and added a little extra to fancy it up a bit:
